SkillSkool was a series of proposed summer camps devised and developed with Computer Animation BSc students, as a proposal for a professional development initiative that would generate third stream income for the Faculty of Computing at London Met, circa 2008. At that time there was little pressure on universities to make income, or do much in the way of increasing recruitment, so sadly the university never gave us the go ahead, otherwise I believe this would have been a very successful initiative.

The aim(s) of the courses

• Recruitment of young people to applicable degree courses
• Attraction of overseas students to our university
• Utilization of our own (best) students in a semi work environment to enhance their experience and add to the value of studying degrees in our department
• Bringing in outside industry figures to add to the kudos and profile of our degrees and department
